Partners for Health Foundation Reinvests in Table to Table’s Mission with a Two-Year $120,000 Grant to Combat Food Insecurity, Promote Nutritional Wellness, and Address Health Inequities
July 13, 2026 – Saddle Brook, NJ – Partners for Health Foundation has awarded Table to Table, New Jersey’s first and largest food rescue nonprofit, with a two-year grant totaling $120,000 in support of its 27-year-old mission to reduce food waste and feed individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout northern New Jersey. The Foundation awards grants to address health inequities in its service area communities.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous grant, which is helping Table to Table advance our mission of keeping perfectly good food out of landfills while providing nourishment to children, families, seniors, and veterans facing food insecurity,” said Heather Thompson, Executive Director of Table to Table. “The Foundation’s continued partnership has further fortified our food rescue efforts, allowing us to deepen our impact by growing our network of food donors, community partners, and volunteers, enabling us to rescue and deliver even more nutritious food to neighbors in need. We are thankful for this opportunity to build a healthier, more food-secure future for our community.”
“We are excited to partner with Table to Table,” said Pam Scott, Executive Director, Partners for Health Foundation. “With nearly 1.1 million New Jersey residents experiencing food insecurity while billions of meals’ worth of food are wasted annually, Table to Table plays a critical role in the State’s food security ecosystem. In addition, SNAP policy changes and eligibility disruptions will significantly increase food insecurity this year, making food rescue efforts even more vital as a strategy for addressing hunger.”
Reliable access to nutritious food is critical to individual, family, and community health. It helps reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions that are more common among people facing food insecurity. Healthy food access also supports stronger academic and work performance and eases stress for families under financial strain. Yet the healthiest foods are often the most expensive, and many traditional pantries primarily offer shelf-stable items, making it difficult for people who rely on these distributions to maintain a healthy diet. Table to Table helps close this gap by delivering fresh food, including vegetables, fruit, and dairy.
About Table to Table
Table to Table (http://www.tabletotable.org) is New Jersey’s first and largest food rescue nonprofit, bridging the gap between food being wasted and people facing food insecurity. We bring rescued fresh, nutritious food to 276 community partners, including social service organizations, pantries, shelters, fresh produce markets and centralized distribution hubs. Food is provided free of charge. Through this, Table to Table touches a diversity of those in need, including families, children, veterans, and older adults, making good nutrition accessible while serving as a stimulus for other longer-term benefits. Since 1999 we have rescued more than 133,271 tons of nutritious food — enough for 266,542,863 meals — and delivered it to our neighbors in need, saving over 612 metric tons of methane.
