Table to Table Launches Kick Hunger Out of NJ Tour to Reduce Food Waste and Fight Hunger During the World Cup

Saddle Brook, NJ — As New Jersey prepares to welcome fans and families for the World Cup this summer, Table to Table, New Jersey’s first and largest food rescue nonprofit, is hitting the road with an historic initiative: their 2026 Kick Hunger Out of NJ Tour. The multi‑week tour will harness the excitement surrounding the world’s biggest soccer event to shine a spotlight on sustainability, hunger relief, and community action right here in northern New Jersey.

Throughout the 39‑day tournament, Table to Table’s branded “Tour Van” will travel throughout northern New Jersey, rescuing surplus prepared food from the Goya Presents Flag Cities Fan Festivals; local watch parties taking place at restaurants and event spaces; and other community activations where food will be abundant. Rescued food will be delivered free of charge to local community partners serving our neighbors facing food insecurity. Learn more, become a sponsor or volunteer by clicking here.

Kick Hunger Out of NJ with Table to Table

“Table to Table is uniquely positioned to turn the excitement of the World Cup into major community impact here in New Jersey,” said Heather Thompson, Executive Director of Table to Table. “As our region comes alive with events and festivals this summer, each celebration offers an opportunity to significantly reduce food waste and nourish hundreds of our neighbors in need. We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Goya Presents Flag Cities and other event organizers to promote sustainability, turn surplus food into sustenance, and kick hunger out of New Jersey!” Thompson concluded.

Community members, businesses, and organizations are invited to get involved. Restaurants, venues, and event organizers hosting watch parties can donate surplus food (prepared in commercial kitchens), volunteers can support on‑site outreach and food rescues, and sponsors can align their brands with a high‑visibility, mission‑driven campaign that delivers real, local impact.

The Kick Hunger Out of NJ Tour will make scheduled stops including Goya Presents Fan Festivals in Jersey City, Leonia, Secaucus, Newark, East Rutherford, Bayonne, and Paterson. At each stop, Table to Table will rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redirect it to pantries, shelters, and community organizations within hours. This “Miles of Meals” approach ensures nutritious food reaches people when they need it most—while also reducing the environmental impact of food waste.
