Table to Table Named “Organization of the Year” by the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce

December 2008 – Table to Table has been named “2008 Organization of the Year” by the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce. Executive Director Ilene Isaacs and President Claire Insalata Poulos were on hand to accept the award, which was presented by Chamber President Tom O’Brien at the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Luncheon on December 10, 2008 at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah.

In recognizing Table to Table, O’Brien said “Table to Table provides for the needs of so many in our community, turning food that would be wasted into a real value for the community. We are pleased to honor the tireless efforts of its volunteers and staff, who regularly see to it that thousands of people in New Jersey do not go to bed hungry.” Executive Director Ilene Isaacs shared the honor with the many volunteers and donors who help Table to Table every day. “We could not do what we do without the support of so many of our friends who are here today,” added Isaacs.

The award is presented annually to individuals, companies and organizations that have an outstanding track record of community support and public service. Table to Table is the only dedicated food rescue program in northeast New Jersey, serving over 60 hunger relief agencies throughout Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Hudson counties. Table to Table receives no government funding and, instead, relies solely on support from private and corporate donations. Numerous northern New Jersey individuals, businesses and organizations contribute to Table to Table’s success.
