Every spring, for the past 20 years, we have held our signature Dinners of Distinction, comprised of our Chefs Gala and a more informal tasting event in May. Each of these food & wine events features a nationally acclaimed chef, such as Thomas Keller, EmerilL agasse, and Lidia Bastianich, as our Guest of Honor and auctions of interesting and desirable items–live at the Chefs Gala and silent at the tasting event.
We have designed the two evenings close together, so that sponsors and auction donors receive exposure at both events. This includes an ad in the cookbook/journal which goes to the guests, chefs, food industry professionals, and dozens of other supporters and corporate partners. Our book is unlike other journals that are typically viewed the night of the event and then discarded.
Every participating chef at both events submits a favorite recipe which is included in the book and our guests collect and refer to them for years!
Because we do not receive government funding and do not charge our recipients, our spring fundraisers are critical to our ability to feed our neighbors. These events raise over one-third of our operating revenue and with your generous participation, we know we can count on that again this year. With an expense to our organization of only ten cents per meal, every dollar raised from your auction donation, sponsorship or ad, will provide 10 healthy, nutritious meals to those in need and will contribute to our annual goal of delivering enough food for 23 million meals.
