On May 21st, 2017, celebrated chef and Table to Table Board Member, Ben Pollinger, rode 100 miles in the Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York Bicycle Race to raise awareness and fundraise for our organization. The result? His best time ever and the delivery of 14,000 healthy meals to our hungry neighbors! If you didn’t know, Ben’s an avid cyclist who logs almost 4,000 miles a year! There’s still time to help support Ben and Table to Table in the fight against hunger in northern New Jersey. Every dollar delivers over 10 healthy meals. Imagine the impact we can all make!
Operating for almost 20 years, Table to Table is a community-based food rescue program that collects prepared and perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to organizations serving the hungry in the Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties of New Jersey.
Table to Table has been awarded four-star status by Charity Navigator for the 7th consecutive year and ranked as one of the most efficient hunger relief organizations in the entire country. So, you can be sure that your generous donation to Table to Table will be put to great use!
In 2016 Table to Table rescued enough food for 17 million meals. Join Ben in his journey and help us reach our goal of 18 million meals this year!
Raised in northern New Jersey, Ben Pollinger earned a degree in economics from Boston University and later graduated as class valedictorian from Culinary Institute of America. Shortly after he moved to Monte Carlo to work at Le Louis XV under Chef Alain Ducasse; he has also worked at Oceana in NYC, a Michelin star recipient, Les Célébrités, Lespinasse, Union Square Cafe and Tabla.
Ben has received praise from New York Post’s Steve Cuozzo and Crain’s Gael Greene; he received a three-star review in The New York Times and was named Esquire’s “Rising Star Chef.”
In 2014, he debuted his first cookbook, School of Fish, an all-encompassing seafood education and graciously donated this culinary read to our gala guests following its release.
Currently Ben is poised to dazzle Northern New Jersey with his innovative cuisine as he prepares to open a new restaurant on Schraalenburgh Road in Closter within the next few months!
